Shan and I went on a 2-week trip, with only 1 carryon suitcase between the two of us. (Half of that suitcase was a pair of basketball shoes, little gifts for friends, and coffee gadgets.)
I know, crazy right? We definitely didn’t start that way; just six months ago, we went on a 1-week trip, with 1 checkin suitcase… probably double the size our carryon! And at that time, we thought we were packing light 😉
Living simply is a topic we’ve been talking about and actively trying to work into our family culture, since we moved to China. We loved the idea of living with less, and as newlyweds, we were so excited about the idea of building something neither of us had ever experienced before. We’re both natural hoarders, and it has been so liberating! It’s caused us to really think about what we need, and why we want things we don’t need. Honestly, we had no idea how far it would go!
Shan encouraged me to start new series on our journey of learning how to live with less. Over the next few weeks, I’ll share different resources that influenced and inspired us. We had so meaningful conversations over breakfast and dinner, provoked by different individual & family blogs, honing down our personal set of values and setting us up (hopefully) for even when we have kids! I’m so excited to share this part of our lives with you, and I hope it inspires you too 🙂
