Meet the newest addition to our household! We’ve been searching for the perfect vine for a few weeks now, and we finally settled on this one. The top character trademark that won us over: low maintenance- only needs to be watered (I can do that) and doesn’t need much sun (our city is usually covered with a soft blanket of smog.) Perfect 😉
Today as I was moving this vine onto the windowsill for some light, I was suddenly struck with the strangeness of a vine. Usually plants grow upward towards the light, but vines naturally fall downward. Unless supported by something stronger, they can’t climb upward. Not only is it how they were made, but they were designed to be this way! So many days I feel like this vine- will I ever get there?, why does everyone else seem to be going the other way?- weak and unable. Yet, the falling branches of the vine is actually it’s strength. When taken root under the right tree, it can latch on and climb above everything else.
Nature is amazing.
